Background

Amanda is a mum of two daughters and is proud to call Poole home. Her children attend schools in the area, giving her a strong personal connection to the community and a determination to make sure it remains a great place for families to live and grow up.

When her daughters were younger, Amanda ran playgroups for babies, toddlers and mums. This gave her first-hand experience of the important role community groups and support networks play, particularly for young families.

Experience

Amanda has a professional background in the food industry, sales, commercial management and marketing. She has managed teams, grown businesses, worked with customers and suppliers across the UK, and been responsible for budgets, targets and commercial decision-making. This experience has given Amanda a practical, business minded approach which she wants to bring to the council.

She is particularly keen to use her commercial experience to support independent businesses and help our high streets thrive.

Amanda is passionate about supporting families and young people, protecting our community and green spaces, and making sure residents feel listened to and properly represented.

Community & Interests

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her daughters and making the most of living by the coast. She enjoys being outdoors, paddleboarding and walking.

Whether it is supporting families, standing up for businesses or protecting the places that make Poole special, Amanda wants to play an active role in making the area an even better place to live.
